I've loved Alice in Chains since I first heard "Them Bones" in the 90s.

The sludgy riffs.

The driving bass and killer rhythm section.

Jerry Cantrell's hair.

But most of all - that freakin' VOICE!

Layne Staley, the ultimate vocal god for any self respecting rock fan.

But for so many years, I just could never have dreamed even singing the first few lines of a song like "Down in a hole" let alone do my own serious Alice in Chains - Down in a Hole | Vocal Cover.

Doing a cover like that takes serious chops, dedication to your voice and a brass set of balls.

Over many years of vocal training, I had it in the back of my mind that what I'd REALLY love to do is do a bunch of covers of Alice in Chains songs and just knock the vocals out of the park.

It was a pipe dream.

But the day arrived recently where I really mastered The Four Vocal Fundamentals in a way that has allowed me to sing like Layne Staley with ease.
