Not every singing course online is created equal.
You might think that learning to sing is all about drilling piano scales and MAMAMA exercises - but the truth is that your favourite singers didn't actually learn how to sing in this way, and, the people that sell those types of singing course online most likely didn't learn how to sing just by drilling a few scales and funny sounds.
So, how do you REALLY learn to sing better - and which is the best singing course online?
For me personally, after many many years of singing lessons drilling along to piano scales and constant frustration at my lack of range - and ever growing expense of wasting thousands of dollars on singing lessons that weren't actually helping me sing any better; I realised that there was a BETTER way to learn how to sing online, and that your average singing course online is designed more for 'natural' singers who just "get it" and might only need a few sounds and scales to get where they're going as singers.
But this definitely wasn't me, and it's most likely not you either.
Did you know there's two different pitching mechanisms in your voice? And that both your vowel and your pitch are derived from the same fundamental vibration of the vocal folds - and, when you increase your pitch, you need to change the frequencies of your vowel? Did you also know that "open throat" often actually means singing towards a closed vowel?
It's simple VOCAL FUNDAMENTALS like this that have changed my life as a singer
But unfortunately, I can think of very few online singing courses that cover these basics.
My advice to any beginner singer is to first understand these basic fundamentals of how the voice actually functions so that your eyes (and your voice!) is open as you move forward with your training.
There's a reason this site is called FOUNDATION VOCAL.
Because learning how to sing is all about your FOUNDATION as a singer.
Correct breathing, correct vowel, right tone, right approach - and absolute confidence in what you're working towards as a singer both in your goals and in your technique.
Secondly, any singing course online that doesn't cover VOWELS is a total waste of your time.
I know, I know - you already "know" what a vowel is - AEIOU, right?
But what if I told you that these weren't actually the vowels that you sing with, and the vowels that you need to sing with to 'receive' that beautiful open resonance everyone is always talking about and working towards?
Here's how to really do it;
