If you're looking for good singing tips for ROCK singers - this tutorial is for you!
Great rock singers like Freddie Mercury, Paul Rodgers, Glenn Hughes, Chris Cornell and Myles Kennedy have something incredibly important in common.
... And that's what I'm going to share with you in this lesson.
Now, you might think that guys like Layne Staley or Robert Plant were just "natural" singers who just sang awesome from day one without any training or lessons - and guys like you and me just suck as singers and nothing is going to change this.
Am I right?
The truth is, there's something incredibly important that "natural" singers are doing that singers like you and me just aren't doing - and it's a GAME CHANGER if you can work it out.
Fuck those guys.
I'm serious.
Forget those guys for a minute, let's talk about your voice for a moment.
What do you know about VOWELS when you're singing?
I'm serious - A, E, I, O, U.... right?
Not exactly.
Let's talk about 'pitch' for a moment. The "note" that you're singing is directly related to the speed of vibration of your vocal folds.
As an example, an A4 is 440 revolutions within the sound wave.
Regardless of voice, genetics, height, how long your neck is, how long your HAIR is, your voice type - the frequency required for this note is set in stone.
Now, your VOWEL is ALSO a direction relation to this same frequency - a derivative or integer, absolutely.
But, still a direct result of the speed that your vocal folds vibrate at.
So, if your "pitch" is a direct result of the speed your vocal folds are vibrating at, and your "vowel" is a derivative of the speed with which your vocal folds vibrate at...
... what happens to your vowel when you increase your pitch?
This is a GAME CHANGING question.
Because obviously, the frequencies within your vowel absolutely must change when you increase your pitch.
Yet, you just keep trying to sing "yeah!" or "love!" of "fuck yeah... love!!" in the same way in your high range to the same way you sing these words/vowels in your lower range.
It obviously goes pear shaped.
Here's how to sing your vowels correctly - one of the best good singing tips for ROCK singers you're going to find;
