So you're looking for singing exercises beginners can use to get started on their way to becoming the world's greatest singer - you've seen lip trills on YouTube, you've heard about vowels; but it all just seems to complicated and way too much hard work for a beginner, right?
That's because you need a goal.
Simply practicing exercises is a slippery slope into being disillusioned and giving up on your goal of becoming a better singer.
After all, what is the POINT of all of these singing exercises beginners are given?
I'm going to do one better than just telling you "why", I'm actually going to show you the #1 absolute most important technique that every singer needs to develop right now; How to Connect Chest and Head Voice into one voice!
You can probably see why all those singing exercises beginners are given simply haven't been working for you - because there's actually a "way" to practice and very specific technique goals you should be working towards, not just "practice more", but, "practice in THIS way".
The exercises simply aren't that important themselves, unless you're doing them in the right way.
The TA and CT muscles - the thyroarytenoid (chest voice) and the cricothyroid (head voice) respectively, actually have an 'antagonistic' relationship where they activate to opposing functions at the same time; and this is what we call "mixed voice" - a balanced mix of both chest and head voice at the same time.
