If you wondering HOW can you learn to sing high notes, this tutorial is for you!
High notes can be a total bitch, right?
You're doing okay through the verse of a song, maybe even the pre chorus - but then that high hook in the chorus drops and you totally drop the ball.
Your voice cracks.
Or maybe you shout.
Or maybe you flip into falsetto and "Bee Gees" the whole thing.
Maybe you yell and grunt - this is what used to happen to me.
I used to blow my voice out three songs into a set...
Until I learned the three simple steps that have absolutely changed my life, and is really going to show you how can you learn to sing high notes.
First up, what IS a high note?
The pitch you sing is derived from the speed of vibration of your vocal folds - your 'fundamental' if you will.
A higher pitch is a faster vibration - a faster 'frequency' if you like.
Simple, right?
Not exactly.
Did you know that your VOWEL is ALSO a frequency derived from the vibration of your vocal folds?
And here lies the problem in learning to sing high notes - you're trying to sing a word which requires one frequency in the vowel, which trying to sing it at a higher frequency of vibration from the vocal folds.
Quite literally, your vowel dissapears, or your pitch dissapears.
Or worse, you SHOUT and BREAK trying desperately to hit that high note.
The key to singing higher notes is actually to sing a more appropriate variant of your vowel sound as you ascend.
But before we do a deep dive on vowels, there's actually three simple things you can do RIGHT NOW to help you sing higher notes than ever before.
Watch this video and I'll SHOW you how to sing higher than you've ever dreamed - and it's not going to take 10,000 hours of practice either!
