Hey Singer!

There's a pitfall that I see so many singers fall into as they discover vocal technique in a big way.

Basically, you "don't know what you don't know" - and then all of a sudden there's a million different things you have to focus on or master.

Singing very quickly becomes more about technique, drills and exercises than singing your favourite songs and reaching your goals.

It becomes all about mixed voice, support, open throat, blah blah blah - and your simple goal of hitting the G4 in that Audioslave song pretty quickly fades into the background.

For me? It was the 90's rock guys - Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell; those amazing singers I grew up listening to when I was in highschool in the early 90's.

Layne is really the reason I started singing in the first place - I've always just found his voice MAGIC in some way.

I sure as shit couldn't sing any of his songs, but they were still magic to me, and they really pushed me to take that first step of vocal lessons.
