Read MoreStarted singing in 2017, first studying all the famous – KTVA, R.A., P.B., etc., and I was in no position to understand what they were doing. I just figured I had a break at C4, and singing to piano scales with that in the back of my mind was practically torture. I moved it up to G4 after years but it was just strenuous, rigid, extremely tiring and qualitatively hopeless in comparison to my favorite artists who made it seem so easy. Kegan helped me realize it's because "it is easy", but what they're doing is so far from what I was doing, which I didn't grasp until I actually changed what I listen for and how I even hear singers (also covered in this course). I remember always having this intuituve sense that singing shouldn't be hard or uncomfortable no matter what register of the voice or whether you're a rock guy etc. It was such a struggle to not just give up when I'd record with bands and basically blow my voice out in front of producers and bandmates just to get an F#4 in a freaking backup vocal. Literally went to the studio bathroom and started beating my head in anger. Reaching an E4 was abrasive, and much louder than when natural singers I observed sang way higher in full voice, because I had to make it so loud for it to even happen. Good singers can control their volume, and really their power comes from more of a treble boost, which you'll understand within this course. For years I kept looking, feeling like maybe I just didn't 'have it' or I wasn't trying hard enough. Discouraged by all the YT vocal coaches saying stuff like: "That's definitely a belted A4 in chest voice!" talking about Chris Cornell or the likes. BTW guys who say that never quite get the paint stripping treble in their tone (or the dexterity, stylistic freedom and ease) that you've probably seen Kegan demonstrate. Ever since I found Kegan, I quit looking further. The Foundation Vocal Course brings all aspects together, the techniques, principles, tools, psychology, the nerd stuff as well as the practical, so that no matter who you are, if you're serious, you can learn to sing. Here's a tip if you enroll: Throw out everything you thought you knew about singing. I can't extrapolate the significance of this; it must be experienced. You will realize how the different concepts actually work and no matter what your disposition is, this course thoroughly addresses every potential variable and hands you all the tools for troubleshooting, whether tonal, physical or psychological hurdles - or all of them! FVC ties things together and makes sense. It is everything I had always been looking for.

Read Moreso I just went through your foundational vocal course. Holy shit! It's breaking me through to the next level! I though it got east before. My god! It's fucking insane. It's got me to an even more relaxed place, high notes are fuller and beefier, cry is coming in easier!! I was thinking, "why didn't I just do this right away?" However, I think I just did when I should have... Whatever, who gives a shit, it's amazing! This is sorcery!!

Read MoreIncredibly useful material. Within only a couple of days, this course has demystified the whole process of singing up through the registers, and given me the tools to do it myself. If you're having issues with inconsistency in your "mix voice" (or problems accessing it at all) then this should help to iron them out. Best of all, the process is actually quite simple once you try it. No weird exercises/techniques, just the stuff that works.

Read MoreLearned more in this then I have in 5 years of multiple courses and coaches, game changing information and instantly unlocked a range I didn't know I had. Very refreshing for things to actually make sense and work in a practical way. If you feel stuck in your mid high range I think this is especially helpful but still helpful no matter where your voice is at. Easiest 5/5 rating I've ever given.
Read LessHi! I'm Kegan, founder of the Foundation Vocal Method.
I took vocal training from 1997 until 2007 - weekly lessons, courses, books, cassettes (yep, I'm that old), DVDs, VHS courses - you name it, I tried it all.
Pages and pages of vocal exercises, thousands of hours of practice - but I could still barely carry a tune in a bucket.
The worst thing was singing in FRONT of other people. Even when I was doing okay with exercises, the second I got in front of anyone, my voice would just clam up - the shouting, straining and struggling would return.
You see, I've since discovered that there's three anatomical keys that separate 'natural' singers who simply step up to the mic and sing well... and the rest of us.
The first is the involuntary nature of the voice - you can't just "flex" the vocal folds or the cricothyroid, but these are the very systems all those exercises you've been doing are meant to develop.
If those suckers are switched off in your voice by default, you've got absolutely no hope of becoming a better singer.
... oh yeah, did I mention that you CAN actually turn these systems on, even in someone who ISN'T a natural? 👈
You see, there's a process I call the Formant Activation system that involves three keys;
- Involuntary vocal innervation
- Reflex tonal control
- Formant activation
You see, there's a specific set of innervation systems that control your vocal mechanism, and when you learn to activate these systems, the sky really is the limit with the range and voice you're capable of developing.
Secondly, the voice is a tool of reflex - meaning, it physically responds to your expression and tone - once you HARNESS these tonal reflexes, your voice will finally start to understand the instructions you've been trying to give it for so many months or years!
Finally, your pitch and your vowel are intrinsically linked by the first formant of your vowel - meaning, if you change one... you need to change the other to match!
Turning these systems on allows you to activate your formants and finally sing like a natural ... even if you're not one!

See you on the other side, singer!
