So, you 're looking for how to sing high notes MEN, right?

Not falsetto, opera, girly singing - but high notes MEN style, singing higher for GUYS, right?

There's two important keys to singing high notes for guys - and the first might be surprising.

It's actually your vowels.

That's right - your vowels actually dictate your register because of how the frequency of the vowel relates to the fundamental frequency of your pitch.

It's easier than it sounds.

Basically, the pitch you're singing is derived directly from the speed that your vocal folds are vibrating - and the 'vowel' or even the 'word' that you're singing is ALSO a frequency that is derived from vibration of the vocal folds.

You can call it an overtone, an integer, a derivative - it doesn't really matter.

Basically, you're deriving more than one sound from your vocal folds vibrating; one is your pitch, one is your vowel (and there are others too - like twang and forward placement).

So, what happens when you're singing a word or vowel, and you increase your pitch to try and sing higher?

Your voice craps out on you.

... Because the frequency for the vowel now doesn't match the frequency of your pitch.

If you put importance of the word over the pitch, you'll shout and strain trying to force the wrong frequencies from the vowel up to pitch, which isn't physically possible.

And if you put importance of the pitch over the word/vowel - sure, you might hit the note, but your vowels and words are going to be all jumbled and messed up.

Ever heard someone sing "land of the FRAY" instead of land of the FREE? Yep, they're making this exact mistake - the frequency of the word they're asking for doesn't match the pitch in that range of their voice - so, they just push the easiest sound they can at that pitch, mangling the word.

But there's an easy fix that I'll share with you in the video below.

However, I said there was TWO keys to singing high notes MEN style, right? If you want to learn how to sing high for guys - the second key is actually your mixed voice/using your registers correctly.

I get it, you don't want to sing classical songs in falsetto - you want a MASCULINE tone, right?

Where here lies the key - your head voice and your chest voice are actually ONE voice that you haven't yet worked out to blend into one; once you do this, you can actually sing with BOTH at the same time - a technique that is sometimes called your "mixed voice".

When you learn to sing with mixed voice, you enjoy the full body of your chest voice, but, with the extensive range of your head voice - think Chris Cornell in his prime.

Here's how to get started today;
